My Story
Donna Maria Wilson
Donna has been active as a freelance performer since 1992 and as a teacher since 1996. She currently serves as Second Flute with the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic orchestra, is Adjunct Professor of Flute at Indiana Wesleyan University, and President of the Greater Indianapolis Flute Club. She has performed with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Chamber Winds, among other ensembles. She has also enjoyed performing for various occasions such as formal and charitable recitals and also enjoys giving masterclasses at area universities.
She earned a Master of Music in Performance with Distinction at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England studying with Peter Lloyd, Laura Jellicoe, and piccolo with Jo Boddington. While in England, she played in many charitable concerts for St. Augustine’s Catholic Church. She was featured as a soloist at the Pennine Spring Music Festival in Heptonstall, England in addition to performing in the music festival’s orchestral and solo events.
Donna earned a Bachelor of Science in Performance with Distinction at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where she studied principally with Kathryn Lukas. While at Indiana University, she also had the opportunity to study for several weeks with Barbara Kallaur on baroque flute, Donald Peck, Thomas Robertello, and Kate Hill. She is also very grateful for her study with Karen Evans Moratz and Rebecca Price Arrensen.
Donna is incredibly excited to begin selling her arrangements for flute of masterful works originally written for other instruments through Heldenmusik.
